In primary schools throughout the state, SU WA works with Christian teachers, chaplains and volunteers to help children investigate life’s questions from a Christian perspective.
This includes: SUPA Clubs SUPA Clubs provide a regular opportunity for children to learn from the Bible about Jesus. The clubs provide a warm, friendly atmosphere in which children can have fun, hear about Jesus and choose to follow him.
SUPA Clubs are usually for children in Grades 4-6 and happen at the school during lunchtime, although some clubs operate after school and off the school property. Attendance is voluntary and requires parental permission. SUPA Clubs aim to:
- Introduce children to Jesus
- Help children explore the Bible and consider its relevance for today
- Provide opportunities for children to develop leadership skills and serve the school community
Leaders of clubs can be teachers, parents, ministers, RE teachers or other members of the local community. A minimum of two leaders is required, preferably from different denominations. Leaders must complete an application form, provide referees and undergo a police check. A wide range of resources are available to leaders as well as regular support from SU staff.
If you are interested in being part of this exciting ministry, you could consider joining an existing team or, if one is not running near you, start a new club.
