Young Adults – LEAD

LEAD is an event run by Scripture Union of WA for anyone aged 18-25 who has been or is currently involved in leadership.

LEAD aims to develop leaders with character, substance & integrity. Being a part of LEAD will help you develop your leadership skills.

Spirituality - Throughout the weekend we will have opportunities for you to experience ways to deepen your faith journey.

Personality - Knowing yourself and your unique strengths and gifts is critical in successful leadership. Using the DISC tool you will discover your own personal strengths and weaknesses.

Small groups – At some point in leading children and young people you will end up having to lead a group. Many people do it but few draw out the full benefits of group work. Learning the skills of creating a safe group environment and asking engaging questions.

Leading Games – Everyone loves playing games and when done well people will learn from games without having to think about it.

Culture and Context – In leadership we are often working with people who see the world differently. Facilitators from TEAR will share insights into working across cultures and incorporating social justice themes into our leadership.

The Bible – We will explore the grand narrative of the biblical story and how to read scripture taking into account where stories fit into the big picture.

Stories – Telling stories is one of the oldest and most powerful ways of sharing ideas. Telling your story and other stories well requires so skill. You will have a chance to learn these skills and pit them into practice.

Character of a leader – Being a leader is a significant position to hold. It therefore requires that you have certain qualities of character. This session will look at what there qualities are.

If you would like to improve your skills or simply equip yourself in advance for leadership, this event is for you.
