Breakaway is a set of three camps run in partnership with Prison Fellowship. The camps have been running since 1994. They begin concurrently on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend each year. The camps are for children, teens, youth and partners who have a family member in prison. Each participant is subsidised by Scripture Union and Prison Fellowship.
Camp Breakaway Kids
This camp is designed for children in years 4-7 who have a parent or someone close to them in Prison. During this action packed week we will be doing a variety of challenging activities. There will be the usual Camp Breakaway favourites like the special dinner and camp concert, and you will have the chance to look at God and life issues from a Christian perspective.
Camp Breakaway Mums
This camp is designed for mums and children to year 3 who have a family member or someone close to them in prison. The children have their own special program, and a crèche is run for under 5’s. During the week you will be invited to take part in various craft activities and life skill workshops. Highlights are the candle-lit dinner for mums and a family outing. The 3-day camp aims to provide a relaxing break and an opportunity to consider issues from a Christian perspective.
