Scripture Union (SU) Western Australia has crafted an opportunity for you to serve in a volunteer capacity, as an intern, for a specific timeframe. We call these positions 'Internships' and we have a range of positions available each year. These positions focus on a particular area of ministry within SU. The two major internship programs are in outdoor recreation and the performing arts, with additional opportunities in schools ministry and administration.

Internship is a win-win situation. SU and the Kingdom of God gain because of the ministry that occurs. Interns gain from the growth that results from time alongside the staff team.

Benefits to you

  • Opportunity to minister to children and young people in an intensive way, serving God and extending his message of love in words and actions under the ethos of SU.
  • [Optional but recommended] Completion of a nationally recognised certificate.
  • Exposure to Christian ministry at a staff level within a respected interdenominational movement.
  • A steep learning curve to grow you as a Christian leader in contemporary ministry.
  • Ability to pack a lot of ministry involvement into a compressed time period. This suits deferment from university, or a break between other forms of activity.
  • Supervision and mentoring from experienced and professional staff. Plus working alongside our varied and experienced staff team.

Benefits to SU

  • Opportunity to extend particular ministries using the additional human resources.
  • Assistance for SU staff to undertake additional development tasks in their ministry area.
  • Identification and development of potential future key leaders.
